"This is a map for stealing time.
A pilgrimage of preservation for precarious bodies. From sunrise to sunset, Come to any stop at the times stamps above, walk next to me, slower or faster - you know where we are going. Stay as long as you wish, leave whenever you wish. We walk in silence.
We will not move out of anyone’s way.
If we must, we stop.
We linger."
Fay uses time as a political tool for precarious bodies to, preserve, reclaim and produce. She brings a performance score of stealing time with a walking practice. Performed first iteration in Arnhem, the work titled ‘Al Obour’ materializes again in Utrecht city as part of U? Program. Based on a social choreography of fellow precarious bodies, fay invites you to reorient your body towards something else, a glimpse into the possibilities of time
Grounded in André Lepecki’s concept that collective dreaming “must be dared, collectively, into existence” (2003: 22) and Jacques Rancière’s idea of the distribution of the sensible, the project encourages participants to reimagine how bodies move and interact in public spaces. By engaging in collective walks, it seeks to reshape what is visible and permissible in society.
Fay will present on the 9th of November 2025 the outcome of this intervention and more over her practice at the public opening of U? program at MOIRA.
